Tracklist
Chasing the Moon
“… sonic textures, wry narratives, catchy hooks and songs that draw you in. Chasing the Moon is an unlikely but successful meeting of a singer-songwriter with one foot in roots rock and the other in electronic production.” – Pete Feenstra, Get Ready to Rock (United Kingdom)
“Many of the songs can best be described as dream pop. This is certainly true of the title track which is more like listening to a poem than a song…. there’s a sense of timeless wonder….” – Bill Harriman, Sound Waves.
Combining Paul’s love of story songs with his rich production style, this collection is acoustic-based, yet sumptuous with electronic soundscapes. A lush feast for the ears.

I Will Carry You
(by Paul Guzzone & Mike Greenly)
I know that life isn’t fair
And you’ve got too much on your shoulders
And baby, I really care
It hurts to see you this way
Always remember
That you’ve got me
And I’ll be there for you
Yes, I will carry you, when your legs are weary
I will lift you up when the water’s high
I will hold you close when the wind is howling
When the road is long, I will carry you home
So now you know that I’m here
And I am right there in your corner
I will always be near
Nothing could keep me away
No it doesn’t matter
Where or when
Cause, baby, I’ll be there
And I will carry you, when your legs are weary
I will lift you up when the water’s high
I will hold you close when the wind is howling
When the road is long, I will carry you home
Don’t be surprised when you realize
I am always by your side
I will carry you, when your legs are weary
I will lift you up when the water’s high
I will hold you close when the wind is howling
When the road is long, I will carry you home
Always remember baby
You are not alone, no
I’m always, I’m always there with you
When the water’s high when the wind is wild
and howlin’ I’m there with you
Oh yeah darlin’
I will carry you home
I will carry you yeah
Ooooh…
I will carry you home.

The Simple Things
(by Paul Guzzone)
Sometimes all that you need are the simple things
The simple things
Can bring us together
The simple things
Can make you feel better
The simple things
Sometimes all that you need are
The simple things
The simple things
In everything that you do
The simple things
Can touch you and move you
The simple things
Oh, your world is all right when you have
The simple things
A walk in the country
Or holding your baby
Singin’ “Stoned Soul Picnic”
In the summer time
Cookin’ up fun in the kitchen
Or lazy day fishin’
Or dancin’ in the moonlight with the fireflies
Don’t you ever want to stroll down the beach,
Pick an apple that is just out of reach,
Write a letter by hand to a friend in your hometown,
You’re gonna feel alright when you get down to
The simple things
Bring people together
The simple things
Can make your life better
The simple things
Sometimes all that you need are
The simple things
Some days get so complicated
Over heated, saturated
More is more
We try and try
But never seem to be satisfied
Lost all control
Then I went off the track
Gotta re-boot, reset
Gotta get back to
The simple things
That bring people together
The simple things
Oh, that make you life better
The simple things
Sometimes all that you need are
The simple things
‘Cause your world is all right, oh, don’t ya know
When you’ve got
The simple things
Oh, the simple things
The simple things

Chasing the Moon
(by Paul Guzzone)
I need the night like a tree needs light from the sun
And water from the sky
Like skin to breathe and blood to flow
And eyes sometimes they need to cry
I live for the dark to come and surround me
And lift me from this space
To carry me in indigo arms
To another time, another place
I know you want to come with me
I can see it in your face
But it’s not easy letting go
Don’t stop to think don’t hesitate
We can run from the fools, run from the sorrow
Run from the day to day
We can run with the blues, run with the beat
We can even run with the wolves
Chasing the moon
Imagine us flying together lost among the stars
Magical colors, impossible beauty,
Venus and Mars
We’ll circle ‘round the skyline and tag the city lights
Hitch a ride on a comet play catch with a satellite
Chasing the moon
I don’t want no other lover, no
Every one could disappear
I just want you and with me forever
Two souls in the night
Together in flight
Chasing the moon
Out on the horizon the sky is turning red
The sun is coming up now
I must take you back to your bed
When you wake up should you think of me
Should you wonder what to do
On the other side of midnight
I’ll be waiting there for you
Chasing the moon

Everything Happens For A Reason
(by Paul Guzzone & Mike Greenly)
There are days when all the news gets sadder by the hour
Times so bad I have to wonder where is the Higher Power
When desperate people walk the streets with no place else to go
And drought and heat and hurricanes wash over all we know
But no matter what comes our way
I need to believe
I’ve got to believe that
Everything happens for a reason
Whether we understand it or not
And if everything happens for a reason
Whether we want to face it or not
Then there must be a higher plan
There must be a higher plan
They say to everything there is a season
And that everything happens …
Everything happens for a reason
While guns and greed and governments spread misery on earth
I wonder if we’ve all forgotten what a life is worth
I’m tryin’ to remember what they taught me long ago
I wish I knew that everything I learned is really so
But no matter what comes our way
I need to believe
I’ve got to believe that
Everything happens for a reason
Whether we understand it or not
And if everything happens for a reason
Whether we want to face it or not
Then there must be a higher plan
There must be a higher plan
They say to everything there is a season
And that everything happens …
Everything happens for a reason
Everything happens for a reason
Whether we understand it or not
And there must be a higher plan
There must be a higher plan
They say to everything there is a season
And that everything happens …
Everything for a reason
Everything happens for a reason
Everything happens …
Everything happens for a reason … for a reason

Blue Carribean Waltz
(by Paul Guzzone)
If I were a sailor then she’d be the mast
holding steady and straight in the wind
And if I were in danger, then she’d be
the welcoming lighthouse guiding me in
Now, I am no angel, but I do believe
the devil will never take me
I am no sailor, but I do believe
that these currents will bring her to me
‘Cause there’s nothing as peaceful
as the breeze on the water
or as soft as the sea doves’ calls
Won’t you come take my hand
and we’ll dance in the sand
to the blue Caribbean waltz
Sometimes I feel like this island,
the ocean side wide, the inlets are calm
But I know the day that I find her
I’ll never wander. I’ll do her no harm
Now, I am no angel, but I do believe
the devil will never take me
I am a poet and I do believe
that these currents will send her to me
‘Cause there’s nothing as peaceful
as the breeze on the water
or as soft as the sea doves’ calls
Won’t you come take my hand
and we’ll dance in the sand
to the blue Caribbean waltz

I Saw Elvis
(by Paul Guzzone & Raffaele D’Onofrio)
The motel phone rang around midnight
Some lonely man pushed the wrong buttons
He was lookin’ for an angel named Lucinda
And he thought I sounded a lot like her second cousin
I was watching Viva Las Vegas with the sound off
Viva love, viva me, viva you
And I told that stranger cryin’ on the phone
Tell me friend, what would Elvis do?
I saw Elvis but he’s gone
The king is dead but we carry on
We all gotta find our own way
Find our own way
Find our own way, home
I saw Elvis but he’s gone
Tomorrow mornin’ I’ll be in Memphis
That’s where I’ll start my new life
With a woman who loves me like a king
And this time, I’m gonna do things right
So say a prayer to the come back gods
For the grace of a second chance
And play a song for the fallen idols
But save and my baby the last dance
I saw Elvis but he’s gone
The king is dead but we carry on
We all gotta find our own way
Find our own way
Find our own way, home
I saw Elvis but he’s gone
The motel phone rang around midnight

Modern Man
(by Paul Guzzone)
I’m a lot of fun I can carry a gun in my vest
I make a good wage in the silicon age I’m the best
Got a new electronic secretary
She’s so cool and user friendly
Could you live with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
You could make it with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
Hey, I’m a modern man
Yeah, I’m a modern man
I go to the club I spend a lot of time improving myself
(Bend down touch your toes, surgically change your nose)
Got investment bankers, brokers increasing my wealth
I’m a rising star with a Jaguar
I’m bright, young, cynical, stylish and hard
Could you live with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
You could make it with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
Hey, I’m a modern man
Yeah, I’m a modern man
Let’s go to my house, we can play with lots of cool stuff
No matter how much I buy, I can try but I can’t get enough
Yes, I’m highly motivated
Out of control but liberated
Could you live with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
You could make it with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
Hey, I’m a modern man
Yeah, I’m a modern man
There’s something I think you should know
Hear me out before you go
Something’s missing in my home
I can’t stand to be alone
Could you live with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
You could make it with a modern man
A modern man, a modern man like me
